Women’s Sober Living in Lancaster, PA

PorchLight Recovery’s women’s campus is a DDAP-licensed, NARR Level III supervised sober living community in the heart of Lancaster’s historic district. It’s built for professional women who’ve done the clinical work and are ready to build a life that holds.

You’ll live alongside women who understand what recovery actually demands, because they’re doing it too. The community is structured, accountable, and designed for the specific challenges of women in professional recovery. It’s not a halfway house. It’s a serious next chapter.

Our women’s campus is licensed by Pennsylvania’s Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) and certified by the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) at Level III, the highest level of supervised recovery housing available. That means every safety standard, every staff requirement, and every resident protection is backed by state law, not just policy.

The Campus

The women’s campus spans three connected homes in the heart of Lancaster’s downtown historic district, each designed to serve different needs and preferences in recovery.

The Derby House

The Derby House is the primary shared recovery residence on the women’s campus. It’s a restored historic home that combines structure with the warmth of real community living, with enough space and private options to feel like home rather than a facility.

  • 5 bedrooms, including 1 private suite
  • 3.5 bathrooms
  • State licensed for up to 10 residents
  • Shared and private room options available

Globo De Hercules

Globo De Hercules is an additional residential option on the women’s campus, named for the historic significance of the surrounding Lancaster neighborhood. It provides added space and flexibility for women who need it.

The Houdini House — Executive Suite

The Houdini House is our executive suite option for women seeking a higher level of privacy and comfort in recovery. Its name carries real history: built in 1890 on South Lime Street, the home sits near the corner where the famous Welsh Brothers Circus once performed. Harry Houdini and his wife Bess worked with the Welsh Brothers Circus, which was based right here in Lancaster, performing their signature Metamorphosis trunk routine over 200 times during a five-month run in 1895. Houdini was 21 years old and still years away from international stardom. The stage he found in Lancaster helped shape the showman the world would come to know.

The Houdini House is ideal for professionals who need a quieter, more independent living environment while staying connected to the support of the broader women’s campus community.
